Mary Ann’s brother played college baseball for the Florida State Seminoles and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the third round in 1984. The young baseball player started his professional career with the Durham Bulls.
Mary Ann’s brother Michael Yastrzemski died in September 2004 at the age of 44 from complications following hip surgery. The younger Yastrzemski was a standout baseball player at Florida State and played in the minor leagues, reaching Triple-A.
