According to Hoyywood360, Michael Selsman was Marilyn Monroe’s press agent for two and half years before she died. He recalled while talking the Hollywood360-“I was Marilyn’s press agent for two half years before she died.  I handled her funeral for 20 media outlets and it was the hottest ticket in town.  People were calling me from Australia and Japan asking me not to bury her until they could get there, which would take two weeks.”

He discussed Marilyn Monroe’s death in the new revised edition of his book, “All is Vanity”. He also discussed Stars including Judy Garland, Orson Welles, Robert Mitchum, Lawrence Harvey, and many more in his book.

Michael Selsman got married to his ex-wife Carol Lynley in 1960. They had a daughter called Jill Victoria Selsman, a Director of short films. They were married for 4 years and they got divorced in 1964. The reason behind their divorce was not made public. A year after their marriage ended, the actress posed nude for Playboy.

Carol Lynley began her career as a child model before switching up to acting. She first appeared on a local television show and when she was at the age of 14 she was signed as a child model. She then appeared on live TV shows, the Goodyear Television Playhouse, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Danger Route.

Michael Selsman’s ex-wife used the name Carolyn Lee when she began her career as a child but when she entered acting, she got to know the name has already been registered under the Actors’ Equity union, so she modified her name to the current one. 

Carol made her first stage appearance in Moss Hart’s Broadway stage hit Anniversary Waltz. At the age of 15, she played the role of Dame Sybil Thorndyke’s granddaughter in the Broadway play The Potting Shed (1957). Since then she has been featured in a lot more movies.

Michael’s wife died of a heart attack on 3 September 2019 at her home in Pacific Palisades, California at the age of 77. She was cremated; her ashes were scattered at sea off the Southern California coast.

Michael Selsman and Carol Lynley’s daughter Jill Selsman took to her Instagram to share the news with her followers. She wrote; “Wanted to release this info on my own terms but the media has runaway with it but since that was where she danced, you have to let the lead. She went on to share- “She passed peacefully in her sleep after a really dynamic, exciting, complicated life. She loved working in film and was a huge fan of movies, dance and all the arts in general. Two items in her wallet at the time of her passing: her SAG card and her gym card. When you’re an actor, you are always working on yourself as the next gig is right around the corner. I hope the have gyms and stages in the next life”
